INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

As individuals, it is easy to internalize our pain - grief, shame, anxiety, confusion, anger - and allow it to influence our moods, our behaviors, and our relationships. We spend a lot of our lives putting on a happy face, or even just keeping our head down so that we don’t have to cope with the difficult emotions that affect us. But to keep moving forward on our path of self-love and meaningful relationships, we have to learn how to verbalize our needs and pains and overcome the roadblocks that are affecting our journeys.

COUPLES THERAPY

Relationships, marriages, divorces, co-parenting: none of these are easy in the 21st century, and their struggles cannot be overcome alone. Through couples therapy, we are able to focus on expressing core truths using the vocabulary of emotion so that everyone can have their needs heard and their authentic self respected. We explore how to repair all the bonds of love that may have broken down over time, from self-love to mutual respect to admiration to devotion. By approaching love as a multi-tiered, interactive experience that requires upkeep and attention, we can unpack long-standing and complex pains, and reprioritize love in our busy lives.

GROUP SUPPORT

In our supportive group therapy, I embrace the VENT Philosophy: the idea that it is important for us to Verbalize Emotional Needs Together. Support group therapy offers you an opportunity to connect with others looking for support that are caught in a similar struggle. It is a means of connection, validation, change, growth, and support. Group therapy is a time to practice new vocabularies and tools of expression to address current grief and prepare for future challenges. It is a journey of togetherness and relatability that can’t be matched by any other therapeutic intervention.
